Choi Eun-young's book of short stories, titled “Shoko's smile”
I gave up reading, half-way into the titular story.
My heart grew heavy as I read. And for my own mental health, I had to stop reading.
Reviews on Goodreads.com describe Choi's stories as “poignant” and “heart-rending” (though one reviewer did find the stories “dull”). I guess it's just too heart-rending for me to continue reading.
